English, 1568/9. Illuminated document granting arms and signed and sealed by three of the Kings of Arms. Illumination consists primarily of heraldic shields and a portrait initial. Although the calligraphy is difficult to make out in the original (and hence, in the scan), the text is sufficently clear to allow the writing to be described as in English and in a very even bastarda.
Appears in English Heraldic Manuscripts in the British Museum by C. E. Wright, British Museum Publications Lmtd, London, 1973. Small, short book containing descriptions of about 20 heraldic manuscripts, one plate per manuscript.
