Grant of Arms to the Worshipful Company of Tallow Chandlers of the City of London

English, 1456. Illuminated letters patent granting arms and signed and sealed by the Kings of Arms. In stylistic terms, the illumination is consistant with book illumination of the era, perhaps a bit old-fashioned by the 1450's, but still in contemporary use. The text is writen in French with a fairly typical, well executed documentary hand.
