Probably French, 1527. Illuminated document ratifying the treaty of perpetual peace between Henry VIII and Francis I. Illumination in this document is very fashionable--but, as usual, provides heraldic motifs surrounded by floral filler, albeit troempe l'oiel. One of the few documents I have seen featuring a real miniature. Text in Latin, written in a humanist hand.
