English, 1553. Illuminated document granting a punning crest (the Calopus--horned cat-- atop the helmet) and signed and sealed by the Clarenceaux King of Arms. Illumination consists primarily of heraldic motifs, the award, and stylized flowers. Although this scan isn't terrific, the facsimile provides text sufficently clear to allow the writing to be described as in English and in a very even bastarda. There is a larger, more detailed scan of this document at http://www.liripipe.com/sca/scribal/patent2.jpg.
