Of the Avignon Papal Court, 1335. 508 mm x 700 mm. Illuminated document granting indulgences to pilgrims worshiping an image of of St. Catherine in a particular Wurttemberg church. Illumination consists of a large, inhabited "u", a miniature if St. Catherine, and several text letters, gold with paint backgrounds of green, purple, orange, yellow. Calligraphy is a very compressed gothic; leans a bit to the left and has extended ascenders throughout. First line written larger than the rest of the document; otherwise, hand is the same throughout.
